Yeshua - Jesus Christ - The anointed one of God is the Truth, His the also the Way to the Life. Life more abundant, filled with Grace, Joy, Peace.
His ways are higher than our ways,
His thoughts are higher than our thoughts.
Yet, He looks upon each one of us as his precious children and wants to bless us with His gift of Life.
Life only comes from God - The Creator. There is only one way to get to God the Creator and that is through His precious Son Yeshua - Jesus Christ - the Messiah. For through his very presence on this Earth and sacrifice for us - mankind has an opportunity to be covered by the blood of the lamb - as the door posts were covered at the time of Exodus from Egypt - only by receiving this covering of His blood and being baptized in water and spirit can we truly come to know God - through our surrender to God's Holy Path and following in the footsteps of Yeshua- Jesus Christ in obedience to God's Word and His commandments and teachings can we truly be brought into life eternal.
Amen

New Creation In the Messiah
2 Corinthians 3 : 16-18
16: But “says the Torah, “whenever someone turns to God (Adonai) the veil is taken away
17: Now, “Adonai” in this text means the Spirit, and where the Spirit of Adonai is, there is freedom.
18: So all of us, with faces veiled, see as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, and we are being changed into his very image, from one degree of glory to the next, by Adonai the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 4 : 6
6: For it is the God who once said “Let light shine out of the darkness, who has made his light shine in our hearts, the light of the knowledge of God’s glory shinning in the face of the Messiah Yeshua/Jesus
2 Corinthians 5: 14 – 21
14: For the Messiah’s love has a hold of us, because we are convinced that one man died on behalf of all mankind and (which implies that all mankind was already dead).
15: And that he died on behalf of all in order that those who live should not live any longer for themselves but for the one who on their behalf died and was raised.
16: So from now on, we do not look at anyone from a worldly view point, even if we once regarded the Messiah from a worldly view point, we do so no longer.
17: Therefore, if anyone is united with the Messiah, he is a new creation. The old has passed, look what has come is fresh and new.
18: And it is all from God, who through the Messiah has reconciled us to himself and has given us the work of that reconciliation.
19: Which is that God in the Messiah was reconciling mankind to himself, not counting their sins against them and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
20: Therefore we are ambassadors of the Messiah, in effect, God is making his appeal through us. What we do is appeal on behalf of the Messiah “Be reconciled to God”
21: God made this sinless man to be a sin offering on our behalf, so that in union with him we might fully share in God’s righteousness.
2 Corinthian 6: 14
14: Do not yoke yourselves together in a team with unbelievers, for how can righteousness and lawlessness be partners? (people who fail to see the relevancy of Christ’s teaching regarding the Commandments of God). What fellowship does light have with darkness?
15: What harmony can there be between the Messiah and B’liya’al? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?
16: What agreement can there be between the Temple of God and Idol’s? For we are the temple of the living God
As God said:
“ I will house myself in them, and I will walk among them. I will be their God and they will be my people”.
17: Therefore God (Adonai ) says
“Go out from their midst, separate yourselves, don’t even touch what is unclean, then I myself will receive you”.
18: In fact, “I will be your father and you will be my sons and daughters” Says Adona-Tzva’ot” Lord of Hosts. Living God.
2 Corinthians 7
7: Therefore, my dear friends, since we have these promises, let us purify ourselves from everything that can defile either the body or Spirit, and strive to be completely holy, out of reverence of God.

Something to think about
Here is a magazine I have just been reading through I know that it is dated 2009 yet the information it contains is vital even for today's people. The way the society is going today is heading for destruction unless we start to come back to the Father in Truth and Obedience and Understanding.
The more I ask God to give me wisdom - which the Bible is loaded to the hilt with regarding every subject imaginable. I have been struck to how personal and practical God is. He cares about our every detail. Even to how we treat one another. If you check out Proverbs you will discover so much will help you to become a better human being. Understanding that we treat each other so badly sometimes and we wonder why nothing is going right for us. We have to look to ourselves for the changes to be made in us first before we can look to others to make their changes. It is a case of look to yourself and put your relationship right first with God.

1 Book of Corinthians - God Holy Days
Gods Holy DaysI have over the course of this week being reading 1 book of Corinthians. I have noted just how much Paul expounded to the people the need to keep close to that which he was teaching and also the same with the other disciples and Yeshua/Jesus taught the same.
There is a very clear picture that we need to keep very close to the Word of God if we hope to become over comers of this world. We can see by today's society that there is much that is not right. Even the way we treat our environment. We can see just how the disciples and Yeshua/Jesus refer back to the scriptures and how much I have discovered the clarity when I have been doing my walk thru the bible from Genesis - I have reached Ezekiel 39 - the description of the End Times events are very clear in here and just how God proposes to use many events in order for people to cry out to Him. He even tells Ezekiel - talk to the animals the wild animals and the birds to prepare them for the feast yet to come. We can see the same description being written in Revelations. Therefore no matter how much you may not like to refer to the Old Testament there would not be a new one without it.
We see Paul actually staying in Ephesus for Shavuot - Feast of Weeks/Pentecost as there had been a door opened for him. Showing quite clearly that the Disciples kept the Feasts and Holy Days that God had designated to be kept for perpetuity, it is these things that I have read in the past that made me question the so called holy days that are kept in the churches today - I could not find any reference to them in the Old Testament nor in the new Testament - Yeshua did not change the Sabbaths, nor Gods Feast days.
For me when I am reading the Scriptures and the new Testament I can see just how much is in connection together. We seem to consider that the Old has passed away - Yet God Himself said that Not one Word nor one Title would pass away until all had been fulfilled.
We can see today - we have been heading in the same direction as the nations prior to the flood, the blasphemy, denial, absolutely antigod - anti christ.
Strangely enough people will celebrate - Christmas, Easter, and Halloween yet they would not want to be seen to being partakers in Gods Holy days.
We can see just how much has been altered when we check with historical data which has been scrutinized and verified and really a great deal of study has been done in searching out the evidence to support the writing is this booklet which has been a very useful tool for me. Satans Counterfeit Christianity
We can see by the signs of the times that we are walking straight in to the new life for some and hell and damnation for others - which would you choose. For me walking with Yeshua/Jesus has been a great joy and priviledge and I hope that you too would come to a place of understanding that you cannot toss away the past books of scripture because it does not fit with your teachings from your churches, better you take the time to read the scriptures yourself and discover for yourself the amazing truth of God and Yeshua and the incredible destiny God has for Mankind - and the incredible future for those who choose to Stand on Gods word. Human being, prophesy against the shepherds of Isra’el. Prophesy! Tell them, the shepherds, that Adonai Elohim says this: ‘Woe to the shepherds of Isra’el who feed themselves! Shouldn’t the shepherds feed the sheep?
Book of Ezekiel
11 “‘For here is what Adonai Elohim says: “I am taking over! I will search for my sheep and look after them, myself. 12 Just as a shepherd looks after his flock when he finds himself among his scattered sheep, so I will look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered when it was cloudy and dark. 13 I will bring them back from those peoples, gather them from those countries and return them to their own land. Then I will let them feed on the mountains of Isra’el, by the streams and in all the liveable places of the land. 14 I will have them feed in good pastures; their grazing ground will be on the high mountains of Isra’el. They will rest in good grazing grounds and feed in rich pastures on Isra’el’s mountains. 15 Yes, I will pasture my sheep; and I will let them rest” says Adonai Elohim. 16 “I will seek the lost, bring back the outcasts, bandage the broken, and strengthen the sick. But the fat and the strong I will destroy — I will feed them with judgment.”
17 “‘As for you, my flock,’ Adonai Elohim says this: ‘I will judge between sheep and other sheep, between rams and billy-goats. 18 Wasn’t it enough for you to feed on the best pasture and drink from the clearest water? Did you have to trample the rest of the pasture and foul the remaining water with your feet? 19 So now my sheep eat what you have trampled with your feet and drink water fouled by your feet.’ 20 Therefore here is what Adonai Elohim says to them: ‘I will judge between the fat sheep and the thin sheep. 21 Because you push them with your flanks and shoulders and butt all the weak ones with your horns, till you scatter them in every direction; 22 therefore I will save my flock; they will no longer be prey; and I will judge between sheep and other sheep.
23 “‘I will raise up one shepherd to be in charge of them, and he will let them feed — my servant David. He will pasture them and be their shepherd. 24 I, Adonai, will be their God; and my servant David will be prince among them. I, Adonai, have spoken. 25 I will make a covenant of peace with them; I will rid the land of wild animals; and they will live securely in the desert and sleep in the forests. 26 I will make them and the places around my hill a blessing, and I will cause the rain to fall when it should — there will be showers of blessing. 27 The trees in the field will bear their fruit and the soil its produce, and they will be secure in their land. Then they will know that I am Adonai, when I break the bars of their yoke and rescue them from the power of those who turned them into slaves. 28 No longer will they be prey for the Goyim, nor will the wild animals devour them; but they will live securely, with no one to make them afraid. 29 I will make the productivity of their crops famous, and they will no longer be consumed by hunger in the land or bear the shame of the Goyim any more. 30 They will know that I, Adonai their God, am with them, and that they, the house of Isra’el, are my people,’ says Adonai Elohim. 31 ‘You, my sheep, the sheep in my pasture, are human beings; and I am your God,’ says Adonai Elohim.”

34 The word
of Adonai came to me: 2 “Human
being, prophesy against the shepherds of Isra’el. Prophesy! Tell them, the
shepherds, that Adonai Elohim says
this: ‘Woe to the shepherds of Isra’el who feed themselves! Shouldn’t the
shepherds feed the sheep? 3 You
eat the choice meat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, and you slaughter the
best of the herd; but you don’t feed the sheep! 4 You don’t strengthen the weak, heal the sick,
bandage the broken, bring back the outcasts or seek the lost; on the contrary,
you tyrannize them with crushing force. 5 So
they were scattered, without a shepherd, and became food for every wild animal
— they were scattered. 6 My sheep
wandered around aimlessly on every mountain and hill; yes, my sheep were
scattered all over the land, with no one to search for them or look after them.
7 “‘Therefore,
shepherds, hear the word of Adonai: 8 “As I live,” Adonai Elohim swears, “because my sheep have become prey, my sheep have become
food for every wild animal, since there was no shepherd, since my shepherds
didn’t look for my sheep, and instead my shepherds fed themselves but not my
sheep,” 9 therefore, shepherds,
hear the word of Adonai! 10 Adonai Elohim says,
“I am against the shepherds. I demand that they hand my sheep back to me. I
will not allow them to feed the sheep, and they won’t feed themselves either. I
will rescue my sheep from their mouths; they will be food for them no longer.”11 “‘For here is what Adonai Elohim says: “I am taking over!
WE can praise God that he has risen up a shepherd
whom we can trust Yeshua/Jesus the
Messiah.
We can trust the words of his testimony and life as he lived
according to Gods Holy ways, and kept Gods Holy days, and was very much a man
who walked and talked the way that God had ordained him to do. Withouth his precious life and death and
resuurection we would have not gateway back to the Father.
We have all been taught to follow the teaching of the
various denominations and sects, whatever and wherever you are coming from I do
not try to say follow me, I offer you my thoughts and my understanding of the
scriptures.
When I first came to know the Lord when I was 21 I was a sceptic
and unbeliever who although I did have some notion that there must be a supreme
being who was in control of the whole universe as it did not make sense to me
not have a Intelligence in control. For
me even before I got sick I was looking a life and wondering how was it all
made possible. There was so much in the
scientific community that were discovering new things especially in archaeology
and there was so much that was so incredible man could not duplicate no matter
how much they have tried.
As a child I had some experiences which were hard to share –
as I would probably have been classed as a nutter. I can remember a time I was in the bath when
as I lay there soaking in the water I noticed the window frame made the shape of
the cross in the water as I pondered on this I was led on to see a beach scene
with Jesus in white coming towards me – as I was watching I could see how
lovely he was and how friendly he was and much pain he must have suffered. I did not fully appreciate this gift I had
been given till much later.
When I was dying at 21 with an illness brought on from
stress and fear, chronic nervous indigestion – today people take gaviscon and
other remedies to soothe the tension and relax the muscles – but it does not
take away the underlying cause – anyway, I was seeing a doctor who had
prescribed Aslione Suspension which was supposed to relax my stomach cramps and
help with the pain I was undergoing.
However, it did not work for me, because it was not meant to as it was a
way that God had used to bring me to my knees to reach out and touch the skirt
of the Jew – to call upon Him for my help.
I was lying in bed suffering great weight on my chest as if my life was
being pushed out of me, when I cried to God
- acknowledging my unbelief in Him.
Yet at the same time something in side of me was crying out to God for
Help. As I acknowledge my unbelief and
asked for him to deliver me and help me the weight lifted off and I was able to
sleep. I needed God’s help I had no-one
else to help me. I was alone with a young baby who needed me. I was really scared I was going to die and
she too would have died as there was no way anyone could have come in to help
us. I cried to God and He rescued
me. He can rescue you too.
The only thing I can remember doing before this incredible
event happened in my life – I had been reading Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in
a bible I had had since I was a child. It was the only reading of any value in
my home at the time. I can remember
reading it and thinking how could this amazing God possibly help me. How does this relate to my life.
However since that time, I have been reading the scriptures
and learning much about How God does care, How He does want to help us – yet because
of our unbelief and actually denying he even exists and changing His word to
suit our Ideas – the softening of the word for the flock has actually done
people more harm.
For me the scriptures are a joy and a great way to get know
the Heavenly Father. Not only that as
you read the scriptures you can see how throughout all of history Yeshua/Jesus
was also very much in evidence.
Throughout the books of the prophets you can see that his coming is
announced both the first and second coming.
For me the adventure of knowing Yeshua/Jesus as my lord and saviour has
been an ever increasing source of joy and pleasure. In all the scriptures I can see that without
Gods ways we are doomed, by following in Gods ways and footsteps we can see
that we would be blessed. So when he
says seek the Lord while he may be found, and seek you first the kingdom of
heaven, we can see that he has a way of life that is different to the way we
live our lives now.
For me seeking the Kingdom of Heaven – that has meant the
discovery of how would we live in the kingdom of Heaven – under his teachings
and His laws. Learning from the
scriptures exactly that has meant has been a real journey of joy and
expectation. I would that you too would
open your Word and discover the great pleasure is in store for you.
For me starting in genesis and working my way through the
Bible has been a real eye opener. Reading
about the times when the kings of Israel and Judah who kept Gods teachings and
His ways, His feasts and His commandments they flourished and were living in
peace with their neighbours.
However when the kings who chose to not obey, who lived
their lives their own way and taught the people to do the same, following after
the lusts of their own flesh and offering up their children to Molech and
sacrificing their children in the fires to the pagan gods who were not gods at
all. We can see that their kingdoms were shattered and full of battles and wars
and slavery.
Which would you choose.
Learn to live Gods way or keep living the way of the society is today.
Making a choice to change is clearly in your own best interests. For me, the scriptures and the words of
Yeshua/Jesus are very clear. Come back
to the father, repent of our sins and unbelief and turn to him for him to teach
us and lead us to life more abundantly.
If you like what I have written and think it would help your
friends then please pass this on.

Adonai's arm is not too short to save
(ISAIAH 59)
Nor is his ear too dull to hear.
Rather, it is your own crimes that separate you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he doesn't hear.
For your hands are stained with blood and your fingers with crime; your lips speak lies, your tongues utter wicked things.
No one sues with just cause, no one pleads honestly in court, they trust in empty words, and say worthless things, they conceive trouble, and give birth to evil.
They hatch vipers eggs and spin spider-webs; whoever eats their eggs dies, and the crushed egg hatches a snake.
Their webs are useless as clothing, their deeds are useless for wearing, their deeds are deeds of wickedness, their hands produce violence. Their feet run to evil, they rust to shed innocent blood, their thoughts are thoughts of wickedness, their paths lead to havoc and ruin.
The way of shalom (peace) they do not know, their goings-about obey no law, they make devious paths for themselves, no one treading them will never know shalom.
This is why justice is far from us,
and righteousness doesn't catch up with us.
we look for light, but see only darkness, for brightness, but we walk in gloom.
We grope for the wall like the blind; like people without eyes we feel our way; we stumble at noonday as if it were dusk, we are in dark places like the dead.
We growl, all of us, like bears and moan pitifully like doves; we look for justice but there is none; for salvation, but it is far from us.
For our crimes multiply before you, our sins testify against us; for our crimes are present with us; and our sins, we know them well:
Rebelling and denying Adonai (God)
turning away from following our God', talking about oppression and revolt, uttering lies which our hearts have conceived.
Thus justice is repelled, righteousness stands apart, at a distance;
for truth stumbles in the public court, and uprightness cannot enter.
Honesty is lacking, he who leaves evil becomes a target.
Adonai saw it, and it displeased him, that there was no justice.
He saw that there was no one, was amazed that no one interceded.
Therefore his own arm brought him salvation, and his own righteousness sustained him.
He put on righteousness as his breastplate, salvation as a helmet on his head; he clothed himself with garment of vengeance and wrapped and wrapped himself in a mantle of zeal.
He repays according to their deeds - fury to his foes, reprisal to his enemies, to the coastlands he will repay their due; in the west they will fear the name of Adonai, and likewise, in the east, his glory.
For he will come like a pent-up stream, impelled by the Spirit of Adonai.
"Then a Redeemer will come to Tziyon, to those in Ya'akov who trun from rebellion"
So says Adonai
"And as for me" says Adonai,
"This is my covenant with them: my Spirit, who rests on you, and my words which I put in your mouth will not depart from your mouth or from the mouth of your children, or from the mouth of your children's children, now or ever" says Adonai
When we consider the fact that most of the world churches and people do not really believe that God is going to do what he says he is going to do. Most of the so called people who worship God do not really understand his mighty power. You only have to look into the scriptures to really get a good idea of how powerful God really is.
Whenever I read a scripture which is where people are in dire straights and being surrounded by their enemies, yet in the midst of all the danger, there is always one voice which cries out to God of Israel with heartfelt full blown awe for the Living God that God hears his cry and listens to him and in his mercy he shows that person the way out of any given situation.
We today, often call out to God yet not really believing that he is going to hear us, we really do not consider his awesome power - this mighty creator of the universe, many people just put God in a box on Sunday and forget about the awesome everyday things that God is actually involved with.
Do you realize that God choose to create Human beings for his pleasure - He gave us this magnificent planet to enjoy, to bring glory and thanks giving back to himself.
God gave us his precious son so that we may have a mediator between us and God who shared for a short time our planet living with us as a human being - obeying God unto death for our benefit - no other love has any man shown to any like this God has given to us.
God created us, gave us a brilliant home, and yet how do we repay him, we deny him, we consider his word as nothing, we cast out his laws as if they were antiquated - yet in reality when studying his laws you would see that they are for our benefit for all mankind.
He has been so generous to us, he gave us a rainbow in the sky to remind himself not to flood the earth again as he did in the time of Noah - wow - and when we look and see the rainbow are we amazed at the truth behind it or do you just look and say hey isn't that nice. For me to see a rainbow is a great reminder of the promise that God gave to us as Mankind.
How do we repay this mighty living God - we dont
God says all those that call on his name in that day shall be saved.
Well, on the day I cried out to a God I did not believe in and had his hand personally touch my life and change it for me, I do not look at God in quite the same way.
He gave me life, he has given me hope, he has restored to me all the joy that a person could have. I praise God every day I get up. I thank him for every beautiful new day, for the birds that sing, for the trees that oxygenate the planet, for the wonderful seas we have with the abundance of life. I praise God for his wonderful mercy and truth.
I praise God for his mighty delivering hand, he led the children of Israel out into the desert to become their father and he took care of them - every step of the way, how do you repay such a God as this.
In with the children of Israel were also foreigners - that is they were not all Israelite's, some were from tribes outside of Gods chosen people, yet they choose to walk with God and keep His commandments and live just like the Israelite s and to receive all the blessings and also all the curses as God had indicated in Deuteronomy.
Sometimes we forget that there were foreigners in amongst the Israelite's in the desert, yet when you read the book of Genesis you can clearly see that this is a fact, therefore all the laws that God gave to Moses also apply to all mankind. He showed it very clearly in that fact when the foreigners were also given the same rules as they were living with the Israelite's in the desert.
On doing my family tree, I discovered that there were ways to find your line going way back.
When I had a dream once where I was loosed from a chain of my family and was able to walk back down the line I could see it right back into the beginning of time. We all have this line, none of us are just from the modern times, we all have a family history. I took mine down my fathers line, and I was very surprised to discover how far back it went. I discovered from some writings it went as far back as Exodus, amongst the foreigners who were with the Israelite's therefore it showed me that no matter what we think we know about our past sometimes it is even more interesting when you are prepared to walk with God and really discover the truth. When I started to walk down that path and discovered this information, I went one step further and was looking to see where the "gentiles""foreigners" came from, From the sons of Noah - he had with him in the boat, out of these came the tribes of man, so no matter what you think, we are all connected to Gods own story - we all are part of the tapestry of life. We all have our own part to play.
For me the discovery made so much more sense than anything else. To know we are connected right back to Noah - who in turn is connected back to Adam, who in turn is the first creation of God, who gave us life.
When we think that in the beginning God in his heaven decided to stretch forth his hand and create the universe and everything living and breathing, in and out of water, it is an amazing achievement, whether you believe we have evolved from some goo on the planet ponds, the amazing beautiful God decided we were worth creating. He decided that each animal was worth creating, that no matter we may consider as real or not, the fact is that we are all here sharing in this amazing planet.
Do not think that I am a little goofy, I do not care what you think, I do care what God thinks about me, and how he has kept me and sustained me and helped me through all my dark days and nights, how he has held me in his arms and comforted me when I lost my way, how he drew me back to his loving and tender mercies.
I praise the Living God, Creator that without his input this universe would blow apart and never be.
When you read of how he intends to create a new heavens and a new earth for those that will follow him, does it not make you think just a little bit about what you really believe.
I praise God that his are is not too short to save us from ourselves.

Nor is his ear too dull to hear.
Rather, it is your own crimes that separate you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he doesn't hear.
Thus justice is repelled, righteousness stands apart, at a distance;
for truth stumbles in the public court, and uprightness cannot enter.

HABIT BREAKING Blind but now can see.
Jimmy Saville - heartbreaking truth being revealed.
Learning the truth of his behaviour is shocking to us all. A man that seemingly would be so helpful and kind can turn out to be such a different character to which we were all surprised to hear the tragic behaviour he got up to. The tragic way that so many people suffered in silence having to wait until after he died to reveal the truth. It is a shame it was not clear before hand and he would have paid the price for his crimes. However, due to his clever manipulations of people and organisations he was really a master of deception.
Crank Calls - the disturbance they cause.
This article makes you consider your calls you receive from cold callers in general. Perhaps we should all make it more clear when we call people who we are and what we are about. I received a call the other night yet it was automated and therefore was not able to even enter into a dialogue with the caller. That is even more annoying.

Challenges in Life

These are hard words. They're
easy to say, and easy to ask for, but much harder to give - at least
sometimes. I'm convinced that, much of the time, I'm just about the most
easy-going person in the world. At least, I feel like the most
easy-going person I know. But other times... Read more

There is a
lot to be said for being grateful. In fact, it is a subject of research
at universities by psychologists during the last decade. This research
has concluded that those who are grateful are happier. They also earn
more money, are better students, have more friends and better health, to
name a few of the benefits derived from an attitude and practice of
being grateful. Read more

"Wanted:
Someone to walk with me". This want ad appeared in a Ohio newspaper a
few years ago. When I read it, I assumed it was a joke, and I made an
inquiry. What I found was an old person wanting someone to take him for a
walk--not because he needed physical help, but because he was afraid. Read more

When I
first began attending God's Church in the early 1970s, a woman who
seemed old to me at the time "adopted" me and took me under her wing.
She was a most remarkable woman. She was married at 17, but when she
learned God's truth years later, her husband gave her a choice: their
marriage or the Church. At a time when women did not strike out on their
own, she and her sons had to live alone because she rightly chose God.
She chose to live as a "spiritual widow" rather than remarry, yet she
did not pity herself. She was happy and outgoing. Almost every week, you
could find her entertaining brethren at her home after services. She
often prepared a big Sabbath meal for her guests. It was very difficult
to leave her home without her having given you something.

December Solstice Traditions and Customs
December Solstice Traditions and Customs
The December solstice has influenced the lives of many people over the centuries, particularly through art, literature, mythology and religion. The December solstice is also known as the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere and the summer solstice in the southern hemisphere. In the northern hemisphere, the December solstice occurs during the coldest season of the year. Although winter was regarded as the season of dormancy, darkness and cold, the coming of lighter days after the winter solstice brought on a more festive mood. To many people, this return of the light was a reason to celebrate that nature’s cycle was continuing.

Christmas is also referred to as Yule, which may have derived from the Norse word jól, referring to the pre-Christian winter solstice festival. Yule is also known as Alban Arthan and was one of the “Lesser Sabbats” of the Wiccan year in a time when ancient believers celebrated the rebirth of the Sun God and days with more light. This took place annually around the time of the December solstice and lasted for 12 days. The Lesser Sabbats fall on the solstices and equinoxes.

A piece of the log was kept as both a token of good luck and as kindling for the following year’s log. In England, Germany, France and other European countries, the Yule log was burned until nothing but ash remained. The ashes were then collected and either strewn on the fields as fertilizer every night until Twelfth Night or kept as a charm and or as medicine.
French peasants believed that if the ashes were kept under the bed, they would protect the house against thunder and lightning. The present-day custom of lighting a Yule log at Christmas is believed to have originated in the bonfires associated with the feast of Juul.
Saturnalia in Ancient Rome
In Ancient Rome the winter (December) solstice festival Saturnalia began on December 17 and lasted for seven days. It was held to honor Saturn, the father of the gods and was characterized by the suspension of discipline and reversal of the usual order. Grudges and quarrels were forgotten while businesses, courts and schools were closed. Wars were interrupted or postponed and slaves were served by their masters. Masquerades often occurred during this time.It was traditional to offer gifts of imitation fruit (a symbol of fertility), dolls (symbolic of the custom of human sacrifice), and candles (reminiscent of the bonfires traditionally associated with pagan solstice celebrations). A mock king was chosen, usually from a group of slaves or criminals, and although he was permitted to behave in an unrestrained manner for seven days of the festival, he was usually killed at the end. The Saturnalia eventually degenerated into a week-long spree of debauchery and crime – giving rise to the modern use of the tern saturnalia, meaning a period of unrestrained license and revelry.
Other Cultures and Modern Day Celebrations
In Poland the ancient December solstice observance prior to Christianity involved people showing forgiveness and sharing food. It was a tradition that can still be seen in what is known as Gody. In the north-western corner of Pakistan, a festival called Chaomos, takes place among the Kalasha or Kalash Kafir people. It lasts for at least seven days, including the day of the December solstice. It involves ritual baths as part of a purification process, as well as singing and chanting, a torchlight procession, dancing, bonfires and festive eating. Many Christians celebrate St Thomas’ Day in honour of St Thomas the Apostle on December 21. In Guatemala on this day, Mayan Indians honour the sun god they worshipped long before they became Christians with a dangerous ritual known as the polo voladore, or “flying pole dance”. Three men climb on top of a 50-foot pole. As one of them beats a drum and plays a flute, the other two men wind a rope attached to the pole around one foot and jump. If they land on their feet, it is believed that the sun god will be pleased and that the days will start getting longer. Some churches celebrate St Thomas’ Day on other days in the year.
The ancient Incas celebrated a special festival to honour the sun god at the time of the December solstice. In the 16th century ceremonies were banned by the Roman Catholics in their bid to convert the Inca people to Christianity. A local group of Quecia Indians in Cusco, Peru, revived the festival in the 1950s. It is now a major festival that begins in Cusco and proceeds to an ancient amphitheatre a few miles away.

Space invaders! Earthquakes! Tsunamis! Welcome to the movies... and to your future?
One of the most successful genres of cinema in the last three decades has been the “disaster movie.” Digital special effects make it possible to create scenes of catastrophes far more realistic than ever before. In exciting sequences, cities are destroyed or humans encounter technologically superior beings bent on conquering earth. And it all looks so real. In fact, the scenes and characters seem so realistic and engaging on the screen that people can easily imagine such events actually happening. But how would you react, if a reliable authority told you that there was an imminent invasion of non-humans coming to rule the earth? Would you help fight against them? After all, characters in the movies always resist the space invaders… and surely you want to be on the side of the heroes.
The idea of “space invaders” is taken seriously by some prominent scientists. Consider this: “British physicist Stephen Hawking says aliens are out there, but it could be too dangerous for humans to interact with extraterrestrial life. Hawking claims in a new documentary… that intelligent alien life forms almost certainly exist—but warns that communicating with them could be ‘too risky.’ ‘We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet,’ Hawking said. ‘I imagine they might exist in massive ships... having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonize whatever planets they can reach’” (“Hawking: Aliens may pose risks to Earth,” MSNBC, April 25, 2010).
Interestingly enough, a similar movie plot played out in the successful film “Independence Day,” which was released in 1996, well before Professor Hawking’s 2010 comment. In that movie, space invaders with superior technology were bent on destroying human life in order to exploit the earth’s resources.
A Book of Science?
Is the Bible just a compilation of ancient literary works? Should it be trusted as a book of science? Would you expect the Bible to contain information about a coming space invasion? Is it a book of literature, or of science, or of fiction? Those questions present false choices. A better question would be, “Is the Bible a book of history?” It certainly is—and the history it contains is being consistently verified by modern archaeology. Among many things, it is also an “instruction manual” for living a successful life.
Moreover, as history, the Bible is unique in that it contains both past and future history. “Prophecy” is another name for that future history. The God of the Bible tells us, “I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure’” (Isaiah 46:9–10). What God tells us about future events is as certain as the history that has already occurred.
What Does Fulfilled Prophecy Look Like?
Fulfilled prophecy may be as dramatic as a movie thriller. Or it may seem as routine as a story in your morning newspaper—except that the prophecy was given thousands of years ago. In one sense, God is an advance newscaster. For example, in 70ad, Roman soldiers destroyed the temple in Jerusalem while defeating a Jewish rebellion, and the Jews were soon scattered into what is often called the “Diaspora.” Yet, long before, God had foretold through His prophet Zechariah that the Jewish people would return from a scattering many centuries later, as part of a series of prophesied events occurring just before the return of the Messiah. “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it… In that day I will make the governors of Judah like a firepan in the woodpile, and like a fiery torch in the sheaves; they shall devour all the surrounding peoples on the right hand and on the left, but Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place—Jerusalem” (Zechariah 12:2–6).Indeed, after nearly two millennia of exile, descendants of the ancient kingdom of Judah reestablished their homeland in 1948 as the nation of Israel. Obsessed with destroying Israel, the surrounding Arab nations immediately attacked, but were “burned” and driven back. Then, in 1967, Jerusalem was retaken by the Israelis in the “Six-Day War,” and since that time, Jerusalem has been “a heavy stone” and an intractable political problem for all nations. Those events are history now, yet the prophet Zechariah recorded them millennia ago as “future history”!
What is some additional “future history” that you will see as news in the near future? Tomorrow’s World has long recognized some of the key developments we can expect:
- A ten-nation “United States of Europe” will form, led by Germany. It will not be a secular union as the EU is now, but will be led by a very charismatic religious leader and a powerful political figure. The political leader will not take his power by force; rather, the ten nations—or “kings”—will give it to him, probably for economic reasons. Britain will not be a part of this union.
- This great European leader will make an agreement with Israel that, among other things, will allow the Jews to resume religious sacrifices in Jerusalem.
- A powerful Islamic leader will arise and “push” at the European power. This will result in a European invasion of the Middle East that will defeat the Islamic power. It will also end the sacrifices in Jerusalem (see Daniel 11).
- The cessation of the sacrifices in Jerusalem will begin a period of great trial in the earth, known as “The Great Tribulation” (see Matthew 24:15–22).
- To many observers unaware of Bible prophecy, these events—dramatic though they may be—will seem “normal” in their modern context, though they were, in fact, foretold long ago by a God who tells “the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done” (Isaiah 46:10). God’s plan for humanity will not fail. Yet many observers will be blinded by secular assumptions that exclude the possibility that the Creator is real and is working out His plan.
The Movies Get Real
Beyond these political and military developments, other details of our “future history” will be so dramatic that they will seem remarkably like the catastrophes depicted in Hollywood disaster movies:Earthquakes: Characters in the popular movie 2012 attempt to flee worldwide catastrophe brought about by astronomical events that cause changes in the earth’s crust, resulting in great earthquakes. As characters narrowly escape death, Los Angeles, California slips into the sea. Los Angeles was also destroyed in the 1974 box office hit, Earthquake, and other films as well. Destroying “L.A.” seems to be a preoccupation with Hollywood producers. The movie earthquakes also produce massive tsunamis that destroy cities worldwide.
Students of Bible prophecy will recognize that Scripture describes great earthquakes just before the coming of Christ. The Apostle John recorded a remarkable vision that mentioned several great earthquakes. “I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake… Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?’” (Revelation 6:12–17). This scripture alone could almost be taken as the screenplay for a modern disaster movie.
Other prophetic passages of Scripture also mention great earthquakes occurring before the end of this age. The Apostle Paul explained God’s motivation for this, quoting Haggai 2:6 that “now He has promised, saying, ‘Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.’ Now this, ‘Yet once more,’ indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain” (Hebrews 12:26–27).
Tsunamis: In recent years, many popular films such as Poseidon, Tidal Wave and 2012 have depicted great destruction caused by massive waves of the sea. This echoes the biblical description: “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken” (Luke 21:25–26).
Asteroids and Comets: Some disaster movies—such as Armageddon and Deep Impact—portray an asteroid or comet crashing into the earth, causing great damage. Once again, the Bible foretells of a similar event. “And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter” (Revelation 8:10–11). When this finally happens, will people see it as a natural disaster, or recognize the biblical warning?
Disease Epidemics: Dozens of disaster movies in recent years have been built around the theme of disease epidemics. Films such as Outbreak and Ebola Syndrome echo Scripture’s warning that major disease pandemics will devastate the earth’s population at the end of this age. “So the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and a foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image… They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds” (Revelation 16:2, 11). Notice that, instead of recognizing God’s warning and correction, Scripture shows that many will blame God for their illness, and will harden their hearts against Him rather than turn from their sins. This hardening will set up a final prophesied worldwide rebellion against God, and a great battle between good and evil upon the return of Jesus Christ.
A Biblical Space Invasion?
Alien Invaders: One of Hollywood’s most popularmovie genres is the alien invader from outer space. The aliens may be cuddly, as in E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, or benevolent as in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Or, they may be terrifying creatures bent on destroying mankind, as in War of the Worlds. End-time prophecy in the Bible describes an extraordinary event in which a ruler with great power and glory will descend from the clouds to set up a kingdom on the earth. “Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory” (Matthew 24:30).
Notice that this remarkable prophecy, given by Jesus Himself, states that “all the tribes of the earth will mourn” at the sight of Christ’s coming. Will people see these dramatic events as divinely fulfilled prophecy—or as natural events that they have already seen depicted very realistically in one way or another in the movies? Will they see Christ as a Savior or an invader? The Bible indicates the latter.
The Apostle Paul warned Christians that a time of great deception will come on the earth: “Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God” (2 Thessalonians 2:3–4).
Paul then reminded the brethren in Thessalonica about the prophecies he had shared with them. “Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?… And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness” (vv. 5–12).
The Real Armageddon
The Bible foretells that Judah—the modern nation of Israel—will reinstate animal sacrifices, but that the sacrifices will be stopped by an unrighteous king who will occupy Jerusalem. This will occur as part of an invasion of the Middle East by a great European “king of the north.” The end of the sacrifices will begin a series of catastrophic events over three and a half years that will culminate in what many on the earth will assume is an invasion by a hostile being and his armies. That “invasion,” however, will in fact be the long-awaited coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ—the King of Kings!“And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon” (Revelation 16:16). The word, “Armageddon” derives from a place about fifty miles north of Jerusalem called “Har Megiddo” or Mount Megiddo. It is located on the edge of the Plain of Jezreel, which has ample room for great armies to gather. It sits astride the northern invasion route into Israel, and in ancient times was the scene of various battles. Notice that the armies only gather at Armageddon. The actual name of the battle is “the battle of that great day of God Almighty,” and it takes place at another location—the Valley of Jehoshaphat (Joel 3:1–2)—which is the Kidron Valley in Jerusalem. The Kidron Valley lies between the Temple Mount and the Mount of Olives.
Incredibly, the nations of the earth—in a state of “strong delusion”—will go out to fight against Christ when He returns—just as they would fight an invading alien. “Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle. And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east” (Zechariah 14:3–4). In the movies, the hero always defeats the invading aliens—but this battle is not a movie script. They will be fighting Jesus Christ, who has “all authority in heaven and earth” (Matthew 28:18)—and the climax of the story is that the nations’ armies will be annihilated (Zechariah 14:12)!
Faith on Earth?
God tells us that He will “shake the earth” to get the world’s attention. But will a world in spiritual darkness be able to recognize what is actually happening? Only those who are willing to look at these dramatic events through the eyes of faith will see. If we allow ourselves to be informed by faith, then we will believe what God says through His prophets. If not, in those days, only deception will remain. In the end, it will be a choice between the flesh and the Spirit. Jesus asked, “when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8).sábado, 24 de noviembre de 2012
Keys to the Kingdom - Deuteronomy 5
On reading the chapter and considering the contents, I decided to share it with you. I consider these to be the keys to the kingdom because they give us a good sound base to build our lives. Keeping them would bring peace and harmony.
This is from the Complete Jewish Bible-OE
1 Then Moshe called to all Isra'el and said to them, "Listen, Isra'el, to the laws and rulings which I am announcing in your hearing today, so that you will learn them and take care to obey them. 2 ADONAI our God made a covenant with us at Horev. 3 ADONAI did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us -with us, who are all of us here alive today. 4 ADONAI spoke with you face to face from the fire on the mountain. 5 At that time I stood between ADONAI and you in order to tell you what ADONAI was saying; because, on account of the fire, you were afraid and wouldn't go up onto the mountain.
He said,
1. (6) "'I am ADONAI your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, where you lived as slaves. * 1.
1. * Slaves to drink, abusive behaviour patterns, smoking, drugs, fashion, one up man-ship. Even emotional and mental torment you are a slave to depression - I could go on but when you consider them in the light of God saying that He has brought the captive out of Egypt we too have had our own form of Egypt in our own lives in one way or another.
So to give thanks to God and recognise that only He can truly bring us out of our slavery - what ever it may be - He is the only power in the universe that can do it. Going to Psychiatrists can only give you partial relief, coming to God for His releasing balm is far more effective - I know from experience that this is the case.
2. (7)"'You are to have no other gods before me. 8 You are not to make for yourselves a carved image or any kind of representation of anything in heaven above, on the earth beneath or in the water below the shoreline - 9 you are not to bow down to them or serve them; for I, ADONAI your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sins of the parents, also the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 10 but displaying grace to the thousandth generation of those who love me and obey my mitzvot. *2
2. * Consider what you give your valuable time to, whether it be shopping, eating, popstar worship, idolising a fellow human being - hero worship -
You can see evidence of this kind of carved imagery in and around "churches", statues in parks, totem poles, even the mascots of games are a form of idolatry, even the humble "christmas tree" which is a pagan symbol and is spoken about in Jeremiah 10 very clearly describes a "christmas tree" decked out in gold and silver - has its roots in buckets and not in the ground - needs to be carried about. Each time you put a present under the tree you are bowing down to it. Each time you get excited about dressing the tree you are showing it reverence as is it were something special - a few years ago I finally came to realise after reading Jeremiah and really considering what it said and what Gods commandments said it was very clear that I did not wish to be partaker of its ritual any more. I used to love doing up my tree and enjoyed all the celebrations with it, however when I really started to study the scriptures and realised that it has no - and I mean no bearing on what happened to Gods Word - except God making it clear that it is a pagan worship - how can we seriously believe that we are being obedient to God if we insist on continuing this "tradition" believing that it is ok, Including the so called celebration of christs Birth - there is nothing in the scriptures to say he was born in December - in fact the "church" fathers decided to start the tradition in the hope of winning the souls of pagans who celebrate solstice and the rebirth of year by celebrating the green man - who is supposed to be the god of the earth - to bring forth fertility, and prosperity, and good harvests.
For some strange reason the so called church fathers thought that they were winning souls, in fact they have made the whole experience of Christ's birth a mockery - to cap it all not only does it make a mockery of the coming of the messiah it also has lost all the so called meaning at all because the whole season is dedicated to making money - Mammon is in control at this time of the year along with Bacchus the gods of the earth who bring about revelry and violence. Each year the police are called out on numerous occasions to violent eruptions in homes during the so called festive season - . Usually ending up with families destroyed through the so called festivities - Debt is mounted upon the people because they are pursuing the best gift and trying to out do one another on their festive scenes and lights. To me it is madness and a complete lack of understanding - this is total brainwashing - and to encourage children to believe in a Santa Claus - well lets see - Santa = Satan
Claus - Hands - Claws - grabbing - can you see what I am getting at, the world is completey brainwashed and each time you consider the "season to be jolly" you only need to see some of the hospital wards filled with people who are "enjoying the season to be jolly" with their abusive use of alchol.
I am not a kill joy, I praise God for the Birth of His precious son, I praise God for the victory that we have won when Christ came and took the keys of the Kingdom and gave them to Peter and told them to go out into the world and preach the Gospel of Good News - the new is that we can be free from slavery and bondage, we are free to worship the God of the Universe our creator - why would you want anything less.
For me, the time for Christ's birth makes more sense in terms of Gods calender - around the day of atonement when the High Priest goes before God for the deliverance of the People from sin and to have their sins forgiven. This to me makes much more sense - as He came for exactly that purpose.
3. (11) "'You are not to misuse the name of ADONAI your God, because ADONAI will not leave unpunished someone who misuses his name. 3*
3* Each time you use the Lords name in a swear - exclamation of frustration you are taking Gods name in vain. Are you truly aware that there is POWER in the Name of Yeshua - remember it is by His name the dead are raised, the sick are healed and the broken hearted are healed. It is at His name that every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that He is Lord. So it makes sense to be careful when you use the Name of the Lord because He does have the Power to destroy and heal.
4. (12) "'Observe the day of Shabbat, to set it apart as holy, as ADONAI your God ordered you to do. 13 You have six days to labor and do all your work, 14 but the seventh day is a Shabbat for ADONAI your God. On it you are not to do any kind of work - not you, your son or your daughter, not your male or female slave, not your ox, your donkey or any of your other livestock, and not the foreigner staying with you inside the gates to your property - so that your male and female servants can rest just as you do. 15 You are to remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and ADONAI your God brought you out from there with a strong hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore ADONAI your God has ordered you to keep the day of Shabbat. 4*
4* Let us for one moment consider this, when we look at our daily lives there are many times I have heard "there are just not enough hours in the day for me to do all that I have to do" God gave us the hours in the day, when we plan our days with God then there is enough time to do all things, by putting Him first, Giving God time at the beginning of each day you will be amazed at just how much you can accomplish because He leads you to what is important. Each day when you sit down and eat and give thanks for the food that God has provided - even though you may have made it, bought the food - He has given it to you - because in fhe first place He put the seeds in the ground initially, and with the farmers working the land and keeping the animals each has its part to play in Gods plan. He planned the seasons, the time for rains and dryness - during the long summer days when there is little rain the plants are busy doing their thing - yet if there is no rain then the food does not grow and there is shortage, so God gives everything a season and time for planting, a time for reaping and a time to enjoy the fruits of your labour - God gave us all the time that is required to live the life in Gods way. Mankind has become so abusive to themselves - families suffer because people "do not have time" to be with them - families are suffering all around the world because people are not giving God time - He took time out on the 7th day for a rest and he has given it to us as a day of rest and enjoyment of our families and to enjoy the works of God as we take time to go for a walk with our families - play a game of ball in the garden with your children, listen to your families chatting about their days, and weeks. Yet more and more families are breaking up because people just do not take the "time to listen, to rest, to enjoy what they have" they are so busy trying to build empires for themselves and neglect what is most important - family. God is the Head of the Family - firstly because man is the head of the wife - yet with both together they lift God up and Give him the Glory and Honour which is His and He gives them all their needs. (Yet we are so blinded by this worlds ways - no wonder no body want to give God time)
For me it is a great pleasure to read the scriptures, to speak with the Father, to go for a walk on the mountain to look east to the great city of Jerusalem and thank God for the privilege of being alive to enjoy the fruits of His handiwork. For me the shabbat is a time of celebrating for relaxing in His presence, even to sit and write this is a blessing as I am able to share my thoughts with you.
5. (16) "'Honor your father and mother, as ADONAI your God ordered you to do, so that you will live long and have things go well with you in the land ADONAI your God is giving you. 5*
5* Well, let us look at this, how many of us can honestly say we have obeyed this to the letter. Look at the amount of sick and lonely elderly parents suffer because of the children's lack of understanding - how many are shoved into residential care homes, - ok there are some who are sick and do need medical attention - but how many of these poor people have not had a visit from their dear families due to distance or their lives are so busy that they have not time to give to their parents. These same parents who nurtured them and gave them homes and help during their growing up - are then just discarded as if they were a nuisance and not even in some cases given a welcome into their homes.
There is an advert on the UK tv at present for furniture - set at the festive time where the mother/grandmother is relegated to sitting on a stool too low for the table or even in another room separated from the family - this to me is a sign of what is happening in most homes - people relegate their parents away from the rest of the family - children move away from their parents - distances that in some cases can be too great for their parents - yet once these same children get to be the age of their parents - will they too feel the same loneliness and separation that their own parents feel because of lack of communication or distance.
Each of us as parents understand that children grow up and must leave the nests that we have provided for them to grow up in - but we in our hearts hope that we will also be part of their lives in some small way, even a phone call or letter - email, skype - is better than total disregard.
How often has the same children who have cut their parents off then on the death of the same parents then end up arguing on how much each has done for the parents and therefore should be entitled to more of the inheritance (if the parents were able to leave anything) - this happens a lot. Who is going to get the house, the car, the jewellery etc. Yet when the parents were alive they were not so generous with their time.
Better to give your parents time and honour now and enjoy their company as much as possible and their wisdom as when they are gone they are gone. ( My own mother died in 2004) and I do miss her and even though we did not have a brilliant relationship - we still enjoyed our time together in the end. We got closer because we were able to give time to each other and we reaped the benefits from that. So it is worth considering just how much time are you giving to your family.
6. (17) "'Do not murder. 6*
6* You may not think you are doing this, well each time you are callous, each harsh word, each yell at another person - you are able to murder that persons spirit, confidence. You may not physically kill someone but your words can do as much damage to another person. Constant bitching, nagging, undermining of a person is "killing" someone.
Why do you think that Jesus/Yeshua said - Do unto others as you would have them do to you" - do you not think that this is something to consider before you open your mouth in anger, cross words hurt like knives in a heart. Belittling someone hurts - drives a person inside themselves and makes it all the more difficult to relate to others.
7. (18) "'Do not commit adultery. 7*
7* What is adultery really - it is faithless behaviour, breaking vows, covenants, It leads to the destruction of homes, lives. Not only in our relationships with man and woman but also with God. When we go chasing after other gods of this earth we are being unfaithful to God, when we seek our own ends - we are being unfaithful.
In today's society is is not seen as so much, yet each marriage that is broken by faithless partners who break their vows, whom seek after others is in actual fact being adulterous - we all know this yet we do not seem to appreciate it from Gods way of thinking - When we join together with another human being for better or worse, richer or poorer, through sickness and health - today people consider it ok to break apart because they are bored with their lives with the partner they had chosen to spend the rest of their days with.
Today, people do not take it seriously when they enter into a marriage agreement - because the laws of the land have made is so easy just to part company - no body suffers so much today with the stigma of being divorced - yet in God's sight He does see it as tragic - here are two of his children who are joined together as one - bearing in mind that is what is meant by being married is that you are to become one - that is a unit - when you look at a leaf on a tree when it falls the ground and try to disect it into two parts - it is impossible as there is nothing left - when two people join together and become one - how can they separate without causing pain to each other - even if it is mutual it is devastating - the emotional ties we have with the other person is raw and painful - no matter how much time goes by there is still the pain and shock of separation from your partner whom you had dedicated your life to - whether rightly or wrongly - (I still think of my first husband and with sadness at how it did not work out because of the abusive behaviour to himself - even though we both knew even before we married that we should not have go through with it, we did and we reaped the heartache of it - even on the eve of the wedding he called to say that he could not go through with it - but was persuaded by his mother that he should do so - yet I knew too that it was not the way forward for us - yet we did) That is even sadder because the two of use knew we were not in the right place for each other or ourselves - we stayed together for nine years - but most of the time we were separated - he was living his life the way he wanted away from me - so in the end it was sad - yet we both cared for each other but it was very clear to both of us we should never have done it - he still is living the life he had choosen for himself - he is still alone and living with his drink and his drugs. He did not want to change - nor could I help him change because he did not want to .
I believe that when you come together with another person and you feel that oneness - the unity, harmony, joined together feeling you can never really be parted from that. That is when I truly believe that God has joined you together. I have yet to really experience that in my life. I feel that with my relationship with God.
8. (19) "'Do not steal. 8*
8* Stealing is very wrong and it can cover a multitude of things, including partners, children, minds, hopes, dreams.
9. (20) "'Do not give false evidence against your neighbour. *9
9* Telling lies to another person about another person is horrific, to be treated to such abusive actions is horrible. This is really a nasty thing to do. It breaks homes, relationships, businesses.
10. (21 )"'Do not covet your neighbour's wife; do not covet your neighbor's house, his field, his male or female slave, his ox, his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbour.' 10*
10* I think when you consider this commandment, you can see clearly what God is saying here, when we go after something that belongs to another only misery ensues. Break down of relationships, anger, frustration, jealousy, greed. Each person has been given the same opportunities in life, we all were born and we shall all die. How we live our lives is how we shall be judged.
How often in your life have you desired something that was not yours to have?
Maybe your friend has a boyfriend you fancy - so you do you upmost to spoil that relationship - that is what happens when someone breaks a home. Someone wants the other persons spouse, yet the sad part about it really is if it has happened once it can happen again and again - and you know what I am saying is right - because you only need to look at the statistics of multiple divorces and marriages of people today.
Because we do not take seriously the vows we make whether it be before God or before a judge - it is so simple - I have even heard it said "there is always plenty more fish in the sea" so you do not have to worry if it does not work out. It does not work because you have not considered the consequences of separation really.
22 "These words ADONAI spoke to your entire gathering at the mountain from fire, cloud and thick mist, in a loud voice; then it ceased. But he wrote them on two stone tablets, which he gave to me. 23 When you heard the voice coming out of the darkness, as the mountain blazed with fire, you came to me, all the heads of your tribes and your leaders, 24 and said, 'Here, ADONAI our God has shown us his glory and his greatness! We have heard his voice coming from the fire, and we have seen today that God does speak with human beings, and they stay alive. 25 But why should we keep risking death? This great fire will consume us! If we hear the voice of ADONAI our God any more, we will die! 26 For who is there of all humanity that has heard the voice of the living God speaking from the fire, as we have, and stayed alive? 27 You, go near; and hear everything ADONAI our God says. Then you will tell us everything ADONAI our God says to you; and we will listen to it and do it.' 28 "ADONAI heard what you were saying when you spoke to me, and ADONAI said to me, 'I have heard what this people has said when speaking to you, and everything they have said is good. 29 Oh, how I wish their hearts would stay like this always, that they would fear me and obey all my mitzvot; so that it would go well with them and their children forever. 30 Go, tell them to return to their tents. 31 But you, stand here by me; and I will tell you all the mitzvot, laws and rulings which you are to teach them, so that they can obey them in the land I am giving them as their possession.'
32 "Therefore you are to be careful to do as ADONAI your God has ordered you; you are not to deviate either to the right or the left. 33 You are to follow the entire way which ADONAI your God has ordered you; so that you will live, things will go well with you, and you will live long in the land you are about to possess.
When you break down each of the commandments for yourself and actually consider the impact on your life and those around you, you will soon discover like I have that it makes sense to follow them.
Remember when Jesus came - his mission was to reunite us back to God and to establish an understanding of what Gods word meant.
We read that Jesus came to set the captives free, set men and women free from slavery, to heal the sick and open the blind eyes. WE can be spiritually blind.
Each time I feel compelled to write, I ask God to give me the words so that I may be able to encourage others.
